The Story of Ousman Umar
Tech Talent Africa was born from a deeply personal mission: creating opportunities at the source and addressing migration through education, talent, and local development.
The vision behind the company comes from the life experience of Ousman Umar, who experienced the harsh reality of migration firsthand. At just 15 years old, driven by the belief that a better future awaited on the other side of the desert, Ousman left Ghana and crossed the Sahara on foot. Like many young people forced to migrate due to the lack of opportunities in their home countries, he fell into the hands of traffickers and criminal networks during his journey. His story reflects the reality faced by thousands of people who risk everything simply because they do not have the chance to build a dignified life in their own country.
After rebuilding his life, Ousman transformed his experience into a purpose: creating opportunities so that future generations would never have to risk their lives in search of a better future abroad.
In 2011, he founded Nasco Feeding Minds, an organization dedicated to providing education in IT and emerging technologies to Ghanaian communities. The goal was clear: empower young people with the skills and opportunities needed to build successful careers without leaving their homeland.
Continuing this mission, Ousman founded Tech Talent Africa in 2021. The company was created to connect highly skilled African talent with international companies through remote programming, data, and digital services.
At Tech Talent Africa, we believe companies should not have to choose between quality and impact. Our clients receive the same high-level professional service they would expect from a local provider, while simultaneously contributing to meaningful social change. Every project helps talented professionals develop sustainable careers from their country of origin, creating opportunities not only for them, but also for their families and communities.
Today, Tech Talent Africa is home to more than 25 professionals working from our headquarters in Accra, Ghana, and we continue to grow with the ambition of driving local economic development and empowering the next generation of African tech talent.
In 2025, we reached another important milestone with the inauguration of our own headquarters in Ghana. Beyond serving as a workspace for our remote development teams, the new facility also includes a dedicated Tech Hub focused on nurturing and developing local talent, reinforcing our long-term commitment to education, innovation, and community growth.
At Tech Talent Africa, we are building more than a company — we are building opportunities, futures, and lasting impact.
